Latvia MGI Tech, a part of BGI Group - one of the worlds leading genomics organizations, is looking for a full-time Environment Health Safety Specialist / Supervisor
Objective:
Be Responsible for ensuring workplace safety, minimizing environmental impact, and maintaining health standards through proactive risk management and compliance practices.
We will appreciate if you have:
- Professional or higher education in the field of labour protection and/or appropriate certification, which allows performing the duties of a labour protection and fire safety specialist;
- Knowledge of regulatory acts in the fields of labour protection and fire safety;
- Work experience in a manufacturing company will be considered an advantage;
- Excellent knowledge of Latvian and English;
- Good computer skills;
- Initiative and desire to build labour protection processes in a rapidly growing global company;
- The ability to independently organize one's work, accuracy and the ability to complete tasks within the specified deadlines;
- Ability to work in changing and dynamic conditions, prompt response in non-standard situations;
- Background in repair and operation of mechanical and electrical systems will be considered as an advantage.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
We will entrust you with:
- Train and advise employees on occupational safety, fire safety and health issues;
- Develop plans for internal monitoring of the work environment and risk prevention measures;
- To carry out the identification and assessment of the risks of the working environment by carrying out planned and out-of-order surveys;
- Develop labour protection instructions, plan and conduct briefings;
- Coordinate mandatory health checks, ensure the maintenance of registers related to labour protection;
- Carry out accounting, analysis and investigation of accidents and near-occurrences at work;
- Provide an operational informational base and communication system for the prevention of the increase of extreme risks in the work environment, accidents and accidents.
- Provide full support in daily inspections and maintenance to ensure facility and equipment (incl. small repairs and small construction activity);
- Support laboratories and warehouse, including office (driving to the shop/any other places requested by the Office Administrator);
