Role Description
As a Localization Specialist, your role will involve facilitating the adaptation of content such as user interfaces, marketing materials, and customer support resources to ensure they are culturally and linguistically accurate. Reporting directly to the Localization Project Manager, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, customer support, IT, product management, and external translation partners, to deliver a seamless user experience across multiple markets.
Responsibilities:
- Work with our partners to translate and adapt content
- Ensure translation quality and adherence to predefined criteria
- Plan and monitor all aspects of translation projects, including timelines, budgets and workflow
- Work closely with web development, customer support and marketing team
- Assist the Localization Project Manager in managing relationships with external translation and localization vendors
- Provide regular feedback to your direct manager on vendor performance and quality
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a localization style guide and glossary to ensure consistency across all languages and markets
- Conduct research on local market trends, automotive industry-specific terminology, and consumer behavior to inform localization strategies
- Provide insights on cultural nuances and regional preferences
Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Fluent English language as well as at least on additional language
- 1+ years of experience in localization/translation or project management
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Strong understanding of cultural differences and their impact on localization
- Familiarity and adaptability to embrace new technology and software
- Basic understanding of web development and UI/UX design principles
- Capable of thriving in a dynamic, deadline-oriented environment
- Skilled in collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing relationships with external vendors
