We're looking for a customer-centric AML Operations Analyst to join our AML & Escalations team. You'll be part of the wider Operations team here at GoCardless where you'll help us to deliver an exceptional experience to our fast-growing Customer base, whilst ensuring we protect GC from financial crime risks.

This role will be based out of our office in Riga and working hours will be from 9.00 am - 6.00 pm (Mon - Fri). Some flexibility may be required from time to time. 

What excites you

  • Acting as a point of escalation within Customer Operations, helping your colleagues solve problems using your expertise in AML/Financial Crime.
  • Carrying out enhanced due diligence reviews/complex risk assessments on our higher-risk customers and providing risk-based recommendations.
  • Reviewing Adverse Media, PEPs and Sanctions screening alert escalations from Customer Operation representatives.  
  • Assessing suspicious accounts or behaviours and completing detailed internal SARs (Suspicious Activity Reports) where required.
  • Handling AML-related queries & requests for information from external bodies in a comprehensive and timely manner.
  • Delivering KYC reviews on GoCardless customers in line with our CDD framework, applying an end-to-end, customer-focused approach. 

What excites us

  • Strong KYC/AML background and investigations experience. 
  • Experience in drafting and submitting suspicious activity reports to the relevant authorities.
  • A flawless command of English communicate clearly in speaking and writing, and are happy to support customers via email or over the phone.
  • Youve worked as part of a team focusing on transaction monitoring and investigations or within a QC/QA team.
  • You can clearly explain AML compliance and related risks, develop sound mitigation strategies and find solutions
  • You're passionate about balancing AML requirements with a great customer experience, explaining our requirements effectively
  • You take pride in having strong attention to detail and always see tasks through to completion 
  • You're proactive, can pre-empt issues and are a creative problem solver
  • You have the ability to keep calm under pressure
  • You're comfortable working with internal stakeholders at all levels, upholding our core product & compliance requirements with a problem-solving approach
  • Fluency in French, German or Spanish will be an advantage

Salary range - the expected base salary range for this position is between €1500 and €1900 (gross).
Base salary ranges may vary and are determined by things like geography, level of experience, interview assessment and parity between you and fellow employees at GoCardless doing similar work. Please note that whilst we strive to offer competitive compensation, there is no guarantee that an offer will reach the upper limit of the stated range.
