Duties
As a driver in the Embassy motorpool, the incumbent is responsible for safely operating an Embassy vehicle to transport passengers or cargo and may act as a messenger when necessary. They receive daily assignments from the Transportation Supervisor for transporting personnel or cargo. The drivers are tasked with transporting official visitors, supporting official events, and taking on driving duties on a rotating schedule. Additionally, they are responsible for keeping the vehicle clean, conducting basic inspections, preparing trip reports, maintaining logs for vehicle use and fuel, and estimating fuel consumption for trips.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (4 weeks) of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Education Requirements:
Completion of high school education is required.
Must hold a valid Type B driver's license.

Qualifications:
Prior Work Experience:
At least three years of professional driving experience is required.
Language Proficiency:
English level II (Limited knowledge) Reading/Writing/Speaking is required.
Job Knowledge:
Must have a good working knowledge of the city and its environs, including driving routes and traffic patterns. Must be familiar with the location of hospitals, police and fire stations within the city and its immediate surroundings.
Must hold a valid Type B driver's license. Must have the ability to read maps and plan driving routes. Must have good verbal communication skills, and an ability to handle all persons with professionalism and discretion. Must be able to perform basic vehicle inspection and must possess intermediate level automotive maintenance skills. Must have basic computer skills to maintain reports and for communication purposes.
