Role Description
This is a full-time position for a Way4 Application Reliability Engineer. The Application Support Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day technical support tasks associated with the Way4 platform, including troubleshooting and analyzing issues. Application engineers are responsible to deploy, maintain and configure various WAY4 modules. Additionally, they will be responsible for communication with clients. The role is primarily remote with once-a-week onsite office work. Fully remote work is possible for mature candidates with solid experience.
What will you do:
- Provide day-to-day technical support for the Way4 platform, focusing on troubleshooting, issue analysis, and resolution.
- Deploy, maintain, and configure various Way4 modules as per client requirements.
- Act as a primary responder to incidents, ensuring quick resolution to maintain service quality, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures to reduce future incidents.
- Perform regular application housekeeping tasks, health checks, and configuration changes.
- Oversee application performance and manage capacity, moving towards automated solutions for capacity planning and management.
- Improve monitoring capabilities for real-time insights into application performance; refine alerting systems to balance between being proactive and avoiding alert fatigue, investigate and provide mechanisms for automated failover by sensing application health signals.
- Utilize our log platform to manage logs, develop analytical tools, and dashboards for operational insights.
- Apply reliability engineering principles for production deployments, ensuring smooth integration and operation for new clients.
- Manage cloud costs by controlling resource usage, implementing on-demand start/stop of environments, and retiring unnecessary non-production setups.
- Focus on automating repetitive tasks, particularly with tools like Ansible, to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Application Support and Technical Support skills
- Analytical Skills and Troubleshooting abilities
- Highly desirable to have basic to intermediate knowledge of PL/SQL, Oracle DBMS , basic Linux, scripting knowledge,
- Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and configuration management tools like Ansible
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g. Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic)
- Organized, detail oriented, responsive, and able to prioritize a number of tasks.
- Effective written communication skills.
Bonus if you have:
- Experience in payment cards, banking or payments industry
- Experience with any payment processing application package
