The Opportunity
As a Senior Data Scientist you will be responsible for delivering high quality outcomes by applying the right fit-for purpose solutions in collaboration with other stakeholders and team members within the same business line.
RSS is a global division with regional presence in Switzerland, India, Hungary, Costa Rica, Malaysia and Latvia. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be expected to
- Collaborate globally with business and cross-functional teams to identify data-driven pain points and opportunities; build strong stakeholder relationships; align closely with business and IT; and work with fast iterations, lean documentation, and close communication to deliver impactful solutions for Roche peers and patients.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and solutions, acting as the bridge between business and technical teams; independently plan tasks and run projects end-to-end.
- Oversee and mentor less experienced data scientists and data engineers; perform demos, project reviews, and retrospectives; share ideas for Analytics & Automation and actively incorporate feedback for self-improvement.
- Apply fit-for-purpose methods and implement analytics and data processing algorithms.
- Onboard data into database systems; implement data loads and analysis; perform backend development in SQL.
- Operationalize models using AWS microservices and design optimal AWS architectures for data science projects.
- Create and manage documentation for data science and data engineering projects, and participate in exploratory initiatives to evaluate new technologies and establish new services.
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s a plus) in mathematics, computer science, statistics, engineering, or information science.
- 5+ years of relevant experience, ideally in a multicultural environment working with global processes across Commercial, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, and IT.
- Professional experience designing and developing data flows and ETL using modern storage solutions (e.g., Snowflake, AWS Redshift, GCP BigQuery).
- Professional experience applying advanced statistical methods and machine/deep learning algorithms to real-world data.
- Professional experience in at least one of: Python, SQL, JavaScript, or dbt.
- Strong team player with excellent interpersonal, communication, and networking skills; collaborative, solution-focused mindset; enjoys working with others; extensive stakeholder management; motivated to solve business problems and take on tasks needed to deliver valuable solutions.
- English fluency required; additional languages are a plus.

Salary starts from 3000 EUR gross/monthly. Final salary depends on the successful candidate's level of experience, skills and qualifications.
