Job brief

We are looking for an Internal Auditor (Part-Time) to establish and lead the companys independent audit function (third line of defence). This role is crucial for ensuring our operations remain compliant, efficient, and well-governed in line with MiCA, AML/CFT, DORA, and other EU regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, plan, and execute the companys internal audit program in line with MiCA and internal procedures.
  • Conduct periodic and ad hoc audits across all business units (operations, IT, finance, legal, marketing, etc.).
  • Perform at least annual audits covering MiCA and AML/CTF compliance.
  • Assess the effectiveness of risk management, internal controls, and governance processes.
  • Provide independent, objective assurance and recommendations directly to the Management Board.
  • Prepare audit reports, track corrective actions, and follow up on their implementation.
  • Maintain an audit register and ensure continuous improvement of internal control procedures.
  • Liaise with external regulators, auditors, and experts when necessary.

Requirements

  • University degree in Law, Economics, Finance, IT, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in internal audit, risk management, compliance, or financial/operational audit (FinTech, banking, or regulated industries preferred).
  • Strong understanding of audit methodology, internal controls, and risk frameworks.
  • Knowledge of crypto-assets regulations (MiCA), AML/CFT obligations, DORA, and EU compliance frameworks is an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to evaluate both operational and regulatory risks.
  • Independence, integrity, and strong interpersonal skills to work with all departments while reporting directly to the Management Board.
  • Fluency in English; Latvian or Russian is a plus.
