Accountant (m/f/d) – Generalist
Location: Riga, Latvia
An international healthcare infrastructure group specializing in the development, construction, and management of healthcare facilities worldwide is currently establishing a Corporate Financial Management Centre in the Baltic States, based in Riga, Latvia. As a leading partner for integrated healthcare solutions globally, the organization continues to expand its international operations.
To strengthen the new team, a dedicated and experienced Accountant (m/f/d) – Generalist is sought.
About the Role / Your Responsibilities
In this position, you will contribute to building and developing the financial management centre and support a wide range of accounting activities.
Key responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day financial accounting (accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger)
- Handle diverse accounting tasks in line with internal guidelines and management instructions
- Execute payment transactions and monitor outstanding receivables (dunning process)
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB)
- Prepare VAT advance returns and assist during tax audits
- Communicate with internal departments, tax advisors, and auditors
- Prepare financial analyses and reports for management
- Ensure accurate data maintenance in accounting systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics)
Your Profile
- Completed commercial or finance-related education, or a comparable qualification
- Several years of professional experience in financial accounting, ideally in a generalist role
- Good knowledge of the German Commercial Code (HGB) and basic knowledge of tax law
- Confident use of accounting systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics is an advantage
- Solid MS Office skills
- Independent, structured, and detail-oriented working style
- Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills and a hands-on attitude
- Language skills: English required; German is an advantage ( for communication with international clients)
