Platform operations/SRE engineer

As a Platform operations/SRE engineer you will take ownership of the day-to-day operations of the SaaS platform and operate production systems to SLO-driven operational excellence. You will own health of production systems end-to-end and run them to defined reliability, security and availability standards. You will work together with Service managers, Application support engineers, Security and compliance team, DevOps engineers and experts from other areas supporting each other in reaching your targets and providing best possible services to our clients.
What will you do:
- Own and run production and test systems end-to-end with a strong emphasis on automation and continuous operational improvement.
- Keep systems healthy, reduce downtime and ensure that SLOs and SLAs are met.
- Provide on-call support on rolling basis and ensure 24/7 operation of the platform.
- Enable engineering and business teams through reliable execution of operational changes and production requests.
- Lead incident investigation and debugging of application issues together with application support team, restore services to normal operations, perform root cause analysis and provide feedback to application development team.
- Deploy, integrate and maintain the overall platform solution and client environments and integrate them in the existing platform.
- Patch OS, containers, middleware, deploy application releases and patches, and maintain overall up-to-date and compliant systems.
- Implement, improve and maintain monitoring, observability and alerting solutions.
- Ensure production systems have sufficient, scalable and cost-effective capacity to meet current and projected demand.
- Ensure secure and compliant management of certificates, encryption keys, and access credentials.
- Own and continuously improve operational documentation, including runbooks, architecture diagrams, incident reports and production procedures.
You should have:
- Experience in operating live production systems.
- Analytical, inquisitory and growth focused mindset. Focused on automation, continuous improvement, teamwork, solving and preventing problems, able to prioritize tasks, work well independently as well as in a team and with remote teams.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Clear understanding of security best practices, compliance and importance regulatory requirements.
- Good understanding of networking and network management.
- Proficiency in Linux operating system administration and at least basic knowledge of Windows administration.
- Good understanding of cloud technologies, IAM, networking, compute and storage.
- At least basic knowledge of databases and SQL.
