Position overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Legal Counsel to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will provide legal advice to internal clients within the EMEA region and support the legal function across a broad range of corporate, commercial, procurement and regulatory matters. This role requires strong analytical skills, discretion, proactivity, strong legal research skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive support to the General Counsel EMEA by reviewing a wide range of standard contracts, including IT agreements, procurement contracts, NDAs, business agreements.
- Conduct legal research and continuously monitor relevant legislative and regulatory developments to ensure business compliance.
- Assist in developing, updating, and implementing internal legal and compliance policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
- Support the creation, enhancement, and rollout of legal and compliance training materials for internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to drafting, maintaining, and improving contract templates to ensure consistency, efficiency, and alignment with current legal requirements.
Required skills and experience
- A Master degree in Law (LL.M. or equivalent) from a recognized European university.
- Admission to a Bar Association within Europe is preferred.
- Around 5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE), ideally in a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Experience in areas such as IT contracts, commercial contracts, corporate law, compliance, data protection (GDPR) is highly valued.
- Proficiency in English and Latvian, written and spoken, to communicate with a global organization and/or customers.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced, multicultural, and crossfunctional environment (Legal, Compliance, R&D, Procurement, Business).
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
