JOB MISSION
Protect SUN FINANCE from fraud losses by analysing patterns, optimizing detection rules, and partnering with cross-functional teams to build robust fraud defences.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyse fraud patterns using advanced SQL queries across multiple data sources to identify trends, anomalies, and emerging fraud vectors
- Conduct deep-dive investigations into complex fraud cases, including identity fraud, account takeovers, and organized fraud rings
- Design and optimize fraud detection rules in collaboration with IT and Data Science teams
OUTCOMES
- Measurable reduction in fraud losses and fraud rates across Sun Finance products
- Decreased fraudulent account creation and application fraud
- Optimized fraud rules that balance prevention effectiveness with customer experience
- Data-driven recommendations that enhance fraud prevention infrastructure
REQUIREMENTS
- SQL proficiency (complex joins, CTEs, JSON data parsing in PostgreSQL/Oracle environments)
- Exceptional attention to detail with ability to spot anomalies in large datasets
- Ability to translate technical fraud findings into actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI, etc.) is a plus
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Excellent Latvian and English skills required, as work involves communication with colleagues from different countries
