Job Brief

We are looking for a Reconciliation Specialist to serve as a vital link between our high-volume transactional data and our financial integrity. Unlike a traditional accountant, you will thrive in the "grey area" where technical data meets financial ledgers. Your primary mission is to ensure that every cent moving through our platforms, payment gateways, and bank accounts is accounted for, matched, and verified daily.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Operations & Transaction Matching:

High-Volume Matching: Execute daily reconciliations between internal ledgers, payment processor reports (PSPs), and bank statements using automated tools and SQL.
Exception Management: Identify, investigate, and resolve "breaks" or discrepancies in transaction flows immediately.
Settlement Verification: Ensure that expected settlements from gateways match actual cash received in company accounts.

Technical Troubleshooting & Data Integrity:

Root Cause Analysis: When data doesn't match, "deep dive" into the database to determine if the issue is a technical bug, a processing delay, or a financial error.
System Optimization: Work with Engineering to refine automated reconciliation logic and reduce manual intervention.
Data Mapping: Maintain and update the logic that bridges production database exports to our accounting software.

Reporting & Compliance:

Discrepancy Reporting: Maintain a clear log of unresolved items, aging breaks, and potential financial risks for the Finance Manager.

Requirements

Experience: 2+ years of experience in Reconciliation, Back-Office Operations, or Financial Analysis, preferably in Fintech, Crypto, or Payments.
Financial Literacy: Strong grasp of double-entry bookkeeping and how transaction flows impact the Balance Sheet.
SQL Experience : Advanced ability to write SQL queries to pull and compare large datasets directly from production databases.
Education: Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related technical field.
English: Professional fluency (written and spoken).

Extreme Attention to Detail: You catch the small errors in "Big Data" that others overlook.
Resilience: The ability to handle high-pressure periods (e.g., month-end close or new product launches) without losing accuracy.
Cross-Functional Communication: You can explain a technical data glitch to an accountant and a financial requirement to a developer.
Autonomy: You take ownership of your "ledger" and manage your daily deadlines without constant supervision.
