Latvian subsidiary of SINTEC UK is looking for a Junior Estimator based in Riga office. Sintec UK is a London-based mechanical and electrical contractor that provides a wide range of professional installation services, specialising in automation technologies for material handling and storage systems. We have carried out projects worldwide, notably in UK, Europe, USA, Brazil, Australia and other regions. We are global service provider, installing conveyors systems and other equipment for companies such as Amazon, Marks and Spencer, Sainsburys, Ocado, BMW, Nestle and many others.
THE ROLE
We are looking for a motivated Junior Estimator to join and support our experienced team of Estimators & Quantity Surveyors. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and build a successful career in the construction industry. You will receive structured training, guidance, and ongoing support to strengthen your technical expertise and become a valued member of our technical team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive and download project documentation submitted by clients.
- Organise documents and create new request folders within the company’s internal estimating system.
- Perform initial review and evaluation of project documentation, including plans, specifications, and other related documents.
- Prepare project cost estimates and calculations within specified deadlines by determining the required materials, labour, equipment, and associated costs.
- Collaborate with Procurement Manager to gather information regarding costs, subcontractors, equipment, and materials.
- Maintain and update the database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
- Participate in project meetings with team members to clarify project scope and requirements.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Secondary vocational or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction, or a related field.
- Previous experience in estimating, design, or a technical field will be considered as an advantage.
- Strong IT literacy: MS Office; AutoCAD or Navisworks knowledge will be considered as an advantage.
- Proficiency in English both written and spoken
- Accuracy, analytical thinking, and a strong sense of responsibility person able to work in a dynamic environment
- Ability to work independently and within a team
