Swimming coach/teacher

King’s College Latvia has recently finished an ambitious new building project which includes two swimming pools.
It is our vision that from August 2021 swimming will be included in the King’s College curriculum with approximately one lesson per week during the school day for all students from 2.5 years to 15 years of age.
King’s Latvia is committed to developing high performing swim teams and being renowned for the level of swimming of all its students.

We are seeking two swimming coaches that will also be part of the whole school team and work with a staff of International teachers and administrators.

The roles will commence in August 2021.

The roles of swimming coaches at King’s Latvia are new and exciting and for the right people will be both extremely professionally and personally rewarding.

As a swim coach at King’s Latvia you will be expected to

Essential
Teach from beginners to exam level students ( IGCSE PE students)
Be part of a team working with teachers across the school
Provide feedback to class teachers and parents about the swimming progress of students
Be innovative and support the senior team to look at ways we can develop swimming and the use of our facilities in the school
Be fun, kind and caring to nurture and support our students towards a love for swimming
Have meticulous attention to detail and a solid understanding and practical experience of health and safety related to the swimming pool.
To teach lessons in English
To be willing to take the role of a coach to another level and engage in aspects of swimming pool admin.
To work fulltime as a member of King’s coaching staff. Some hours will fall outside of the normal school day.
Must hold relevant coaching qualification and be willing to undertake further training

Desirable
Have experience of organising swimming events
To be computer literate and be able to use Google suite
To have a knowledge of English National curriculum physical education programme

Gross Annual Salary
Salary for Head coach- 20,000 - 22,000 euros
Salary for Assistant Coach - 12.000 - 15,000 euros
The school also offers free lunch and afternoon snack, medical insurance will be provided after one year of service.
