Join our team! We are looking for a Data Scientist in Riga HQ office!

About the role:

Our Data Scientists have a good theoretical and practical understanding of both basic and advanced analytical techniques. They can use their expertise to leverage data, extract insight and build tools to improve current business processes. They can propose, develop and test solutions to complex problems using scientific methods. They have full ownership of their own work and a freedom to execute it, ensuring it helps the company’s profitable growth, whilst providing a valuable service to our customers.
For this position, we are looking for talented data driven individual, who have a passion for problem solving, creativity and ability to tell a story using data.

Required experience:

Technical skills

• Strong theoretical background (statistics, machine learning, data mining)
• Good coding skills with tools such as Python, R, SQL
• Data engineering (good knowledge of SQL)
• Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel
• Previous working experience and good understanding of machine learning techniques and machine learning lifecycle
• Ability to take ownership of a problem and solve it (analyse it, find feasible solution, propose it and develop it; ask for external resources if necessary)
• Software engineering to support continuous delivery of Machine Learning products (Python coding skills, testing, git) will be considered as advantage

Responsibilities:

• Development of risk assessment models using various statistical and machine learning techniques, data gathering and preparation, model development and validation, practical application of models etc.
• Involve in different data science projects in risk, finance, marketing, UX, security
• Regular monitoring of model performance and effectiveness
• Redevelopment and recalibration of existing models
• Improvement of existing modelling techniques
• Documentation of modelling process and results
• Ability to present the finding to the management
• Working closely with both business and technical stakeholders to turn data into insight and opportunities to grow business
• Come up with ideas and provide recommendations to wide range of analytical problems
• Use data driven approaches and machine learning techniques to extract insight and develop tools to improve business processes and bring value for the company
• Make sense of and transform masses of data into a format that is fit for analysis. Able to link and mash-up distinctive data sets to explore new insights
• Get as deeply involved with analytic projects as possibly. Be involved in developing leading-edge solutions to complex problems

Nice to have:

• Experience in analytical role

• Experience with AWS services related to AI/ML highly desirable Linux (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Experience in managing DBs and ETL pipelines
