Chief technology officer (CTO)

In 2011 xpate has soft launched a new line of business, xpate Stacks, a revolutionary B2C fintech product, and in order to bring it to market (kick off in Europe and the UK, then go Global) we are looking for CTO to be a part of xpate Stacks team.

We are building a fintech solution ([xpate.com/stacks](http://xpate.com/stacks)) that brings together management of personal assets and payments, both European and international. We do believe that millions of people will benefit from our valuable and handy personal money management tool.

The ultimate goal of xpate Stacks is to unite finances in one place and to build a tool which is understandable for everyone. A user has a freedom to safekeep his funds in any financial institution of his choice, including xpate, and at the same time stick to using xpate Stacks app on daily bases as the only place to manage his finances.

The idea is to stay in start up mode as long as possible without unnecessary hiring and short implementation times. Hence we expect you to own the engineering part: to code, to build product architecture, compose technical documentation, and devote part of your time to management, including find the right vendors, estimate deadlines and delivery times, make arrangements with partners, conduct interviews etc.

Overview of technical specifics: Backend is fully programmed in Go. The data base involves lots of complex logics, including procedures written in PostgreSQL. Frontend of admin back-office in written in TypeScript - its typable, well structured and decomposed into small components.

- Define development strategy of xpate core banking system together with the team;
- Jointly with the team, come to a decision to either switch to another core banking system or keep using and develop the current one;
- Put together development, product and analyst teams;
- Come up with a new customer journey jointly with the product team;
- Spot and implement technical derivatives which eventually serve us in building a unique solution, distinct from competitors;
- Build a stable and sustainable service;
- Participate in product presentations to external stakeholders, partners or potential investors;
- Engage in negotiations with vendors, partners etc regarding tech and implementation part;

- Excellent understanding and practical skills in engineering (taking into account that current system in programmed in Golang);
- Healthy ambitions and a strive to create a trending, valuable tech product;
- Readiness to take ownership for product launch;
- Awareness of how significant and valuable management of personal assets is;
- Prior experience as Tech-lead / CTO / Co-founder in other start ups in considered as notable plus;
