As a responsible forest owner, we are interested in methods that will allow us to preserve and even increase the quality of the forest over time.
From country to country, rules in forestry may vary, but our commitment to be a responsible forest manager stays the same. We own forest land in Europe (currently in Baltics and Romania) , New Zealand and the US and collaborate with local management who share our views on sustainability and forest management.

SIA Ingka Investment Management is now seeking to recruit a:
Operational Risk Management Leader

As Operational Risk Management Leader you will contributes to Ingka Investments growth by leading and facilitating business oriented and risk-based compliance approach in Forestland portfolio in Latvia (with a possibility to acquire the responsibility for Baltic region in the future).

More specifically, this means you will:

  • Improve the Ingka Investments Forestry business by securing the compliance with IKEA Code of Conduct, Ingka policies, all applicable laws and regulations, a credible certification system and Terms of Engagement in Forestry Operations. 
  • Build and maintain a cross-functional network of business stakeholders that have responsibility for compliance related activities in Ingka Investments Forest Portfolio. 
  • Identify and evaluate potential risks with respect to the Ingka Investments goals fulfilment and act to mitigate identified risks. 
  • Promote awareness on steering documents through learning and communication. 
  • Identify gaps in working methods and make recommendations for change in order to continuously improve compliance. 
  • Provide recommendations and monitor implementation for the business development and compliance. 
  • Ensure a safe work environment for co-workers and contractors. 
  • Work across functions within Ingka Group and in good collaboration with all businesses to support Ingka growth. 
  • Create an environment where the IKEA culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of co-workers and customers. 

WE EXPECT YOU TO HAVE

  • University degree in a relevant field (e.g., Environmental Science, Engineering or Forestry) or corresponding knowledge.
  • 2 + years’ work experience in Forest sector.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Self-starter with a proven ability to work as part of a team as well as independently. 
  • Fluent in both local language and English (written and spoken). 
  • Driving License.
  • Covid- 19 valid interoperable certificate. Company operates in an epidemiologically safe environment.
