Our Senior Accountant / bookkeeper will go for maternity leave from the 1st August 2022 and we need a maternity lease replacement until 30th April 2024.

Requirements for candidates
a. Qualifications and experience
Graduate of national civilian university, Master, bachelor or minimum diploma in business administration or finance.
Functional area training within finance and accounting systems, management of budgets and day to day accounting.
ii. Experience within bookkeeping/accountant posts.
Understanding of accounting and double-entry method
Understanding of figures in a trial balance, account analysis, and balance sheet
Knowledge of the Latvian tax law and the ability to apply it
Knowledge of payroll legislation would be beneficial as well as experience of working in payroll
Understanding of VAT taxation
Experience within the daily usage of accountant and reporting IT systems.
b. Salary and basic terms.
The Salary will depend partly on the qualifications and working experience of the applicant, as well as the performance, and will be assessed on a regular basis. The minimum salary during the trial period will be 1,700 EUR/month pending your expertise and level of professionalism and will be subject for re-negotiations after the trial period.
Proficient in English - SLP 3333 - (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing)
NOTE: The work requires both oral and written English and in this Headquarters as a whole, the working language is English.
d. Security Clearance
The job requires a security clearance to NATO Secret, which must be obtained via the Latvian Security Services. Multinational Division North will assist in this matter.
The Senior Accountant / Bookkeeper has to:
• To process, control and submit accounting data
• Acting independently within scope of responsibility
• Responsible for journal entries, month-end close activity and reconciliations
• Checking and controlling suppliers' documents and entering them into the SAGE ERP system
• Reviewing general ledger activity, researching/correcting account discrepancies, and escalating issues when appropriate.
• Payment processing. Oversee and process, matching invoices
• Participate in internal and external audit processes
• Support continuous improvement and participating in accounting software development (SAGE ERP)
• Communication with external and internal counterparties
• Provide general support to Budget and Contracting branch
Every year the financial transactions will be subject for audit and you will be the key player in this event. You must be able to present data, cooperate with military ranks of different nationalityas well as civilian companies. Good communication skills are therefore key to your success. You will have to be familiar with software needed for financial workflow, as well as be able to present information electronically.
You will be part of a learning environment, where we are training ourselves, as well as participating in professional courses nationally as well as international courses in NATO.
