Whoever you are, and whatever your role is, with Luminor you will get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to literally build a local banking champion. The Manager of Sanctions Compliance Unit will be leading a pan-Baltic team which is responsible for ensuring sanctions compliance in the Luminor group

What You Will Do:

  • Lead Sanctions Compliance Unit in a way it ensures implementation of regulatory requirements and Luminor Sanctions Compliance Framework
  • Organize, engage, and motivate employees of the Unit through building the strong team, coaching, and holding direct reports accountable and developing talent in the Unit
  • Participate in Sanctions Risk Assessment: identify and assess Sanctions risks associated with the business activities and propose solutions for control developments to ensure Sanctions related risks are managed effectively
  • Ensure efficient, timely and compliant execution of processes related to Sanctions investigation of escalated cases and reporting to the relevant authorities
  • Make decisions in complicated Sanctions cases according to the Sanctions Compliance Framework
  • Support developing and maintenance of internal regulations in Sanctions area following Luminor policies, standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices
  • Initiate and implement process improvements to ensure pan-Baltic alignment and process efficiency
  • Ensure performance of quality assurance reviews based on identified risks and requirements within Sanctions area
  • Support, advise and ensure training within Luminor in accordance to Sanctions Compliance Framework and regulations
  • Ensure regular and ad-hoc reporting as per internal/external requests
  • Maintain and improve Sanctions knowledge and competences of the team
  • Contribute to team and company performance through effective networking, collaboration and leading through example
  • Contribute to create great customer experience
  • Promote and support living the Luminor values and building a strong Luminor brand


What We Expect: 

  • Solid experience and professional skills in Sanctions and AML area, legal background would be an advantage
  • Fluent English is required in spoken and written communication
  • Initiative and high-level of responsibility
  • Risk management and result oriented mindset
  • Effective teamwork and collaboration
  • High commitment to managing Sanctions Compliance area, keeping oneself pro-actively updated on the regulatory changes
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Suitable interpersonal skills: trustworthiness, ability to maintain confidentiality and to manage sensitive information
  • Licenses, certifications as CAMS, CGSS (preferable)
