DATA SCIENTIST

KPMG is creating a highly specialized technical team called the KPMG Lighthouse. KPMG Lighthouse, a Center of Excellence for Data, AI & Emerging Technologies, is a curation of specialized technical capabilities and domain experts working across the digital landscape. This is a central role in all of our projects. The role will have the responsibility for the digital architecture, advanced analytics and artificial intelligence solutions in client engagements including but not limited to: architectural design for advanced analytics solutions, digital development, data mining, mathematical and statistical analytics and presales engagements with pilot solutions and/or PoC:s. 

The role is client-facing – internal as well as external – facing role. You will be responsible for managing innovative digital business development projects for new services and products, owning the overall technical relationship between the clients’ needs and the specific digital data platform and solutions.

• Be part of understanding the clients’ overall data estate, IT and business priorities and success measures to help with designing, implementation architectures and solutions using advanced analytics
• Network internally and externally and drive deep technical architecture discussions with senior client executives, enterprise architects, IT management and developers in different kinds of digital transformation engagements, and manage and develop advanced analytics and artificial intelligence solutions.
• Independently run a project from end to end, from client discussions and analysis plan creation, to draft deliverables with demonstrations, leading to finalising production level code and visualisation dashboards
• Leading respective project work with involvement in the design of the project
• Mentor more junior members with technical and KPMG specific ways of working
• Be active in the team and department activities with participation in and leading initiative
• Maintain and advance personal and team technical skills and knowledge, keeping up to date with market trends and competitive insights, and share within the technical community
• Be a Voice of Client to share insights and best practices with KPMG specialists in Audit, Tax and Advisory.
  

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• Technical Degree: minimum of Bachelors in Computer Science or adjacent fields
• At least three years of work experience in a similar role
• Deep understanding of machine learning & AI, with working knowledge of data platform technologies and BI visualisation tools
• The technical aptitude and experience to learn new technologies and understand relevant digital and advanced analytical trends
• Breadth of technical experience and knowledge, with depth in two or more of the following areas: Digital Strategy and Transformation, Business Intelligence, Big Data, Data Governance, Data Science, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence
• Experience in consultative technical sales and deployment projects
• Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences (Senior Executives, IT management and developers)
• Good proficiency on coding within Python with experience in other programming languages

You will support with specific digital data platform and solutions based on advanced analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions.
