Problem Manager is expected to manage the overall process of identified problems and their lifecycle. To ensure that problems have identified and completed root cause analysis, ensure that the implementation of workarounds, mitigations and permanent fixes is done correctly. Problem Manager will coordinate and direct all aspects of the problem management effort, including bringing the right teams, tools and information together. Problem Manager will ensure that cooperation with other teams is done in a manner that ensures the most efficient way to fix the issues.
Problem Manager day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Management of identified problem lifecycle;
- Preventing existing and reoccurring problems from happening on production environment;
- Provide solutions on minimizing the impact of incidents that cannot be prevented;
- Root cause analysis (RCA) of incidents;
- Identifying possible workaround, mitigations and permanent fixes;
- Ensuring identified action plans are implemented and working correctly;
- Ownership of Post Mortem, Problem Lifecycle and Incident Management processes.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in similar role related to Problem Management, Incident Management, Process Management;
- Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis techniques;
- Ability to draw people together and encourage collaboration;
- Passionate about solving problems and coming up with solutions;
- Interpersonal skills to facilitate communication between different teams;
- Knowledge on how to prioritize work correctly and efficiently;
- Effective self-management skills and ability to work independently (even remotely);
- Good oral and written communication skills in English;
Optional: Professional qualifications in IT Service Management (ITIL foundation qualification, KT Troubleshooting foundations or equivalent).
