Job description

We are looking for a versatile and experienced Payroll Coordinator to support our dynamic HR team at our newly established entity in Rīga, Latvia. As a Payroll Coordinator you will ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing for our workforce.  You will be pperating within a dynamic and diverse organizational structure and play a key role in setting up and managing payroll operations tailored to unique needs of our entity, while aligning with global policies and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Payroll processing: Responsible for accurately processing payroll for all employees of the newly established entity, ensuring timely and correct payment of wages and salaries.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations regarding payroll and taxation. Stay updated on changes in regulations and adjust payroll processes accordingly. Support in employee registrations and social security submissions
  • Data Management: Maintain accurate records of employee hours worked, wages, and deductions. Manage payroll data in the company's payroll system or software.
  • Benefit administration: Assist in administering employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits, ensuring accurate deduction and reporting.
  • Reporting: Prepare payroll reports for management, finance, and other stakeholders as needed. Generate payroll-related reports for budgeting, forecasting, and auditing purposes.
  • Communication & Query Management: Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries related to payroll, taxes, and benefits. Provide assistance and clarification on payroll-related matters.
  • Process Improvements: Continuously review and improve payroll processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. Identify areas for automation or streamlining of payroll tasks.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with HR, finance, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of payroll processes with other business functions. Collaborate with external vendors, such as payroll service providers or tax advisors, as needed.
  • Training: Provide training and support to other team members or departments on payroll-related processes and procedures.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field
  • Prior experience in Payroll processing

Technical skills:

  • The ability to analyze payroll data, identify discrepancies and troubleshoot issues
  • Proven experience working with systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Sound understanding of local payroll laws and regulations is essential

Behavioral and Soft skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Fluency in English and Latvian languages for effective communication with local and global teams
