Requirements for candidates

Legal degree
5+ years of experience in corporate law, preferably with a focus on IT/ FinTech contracts
Strong knowledge of contract law, corporate law, and other relevant areas of law
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Latvian and English, including legal writing
Proven interest in the IT and payment industry
Desire to constantly learn and professionally develop
Solid understanding of personal data protection principles, laws, and regulations
Excellent ability to work both in a team and independently
Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Willingness to work in a dynamic and multicultural environment
Ability to make decisions and take responsibility
Demonstrated ability to identify and address legal risks proactively
Experience in the IT or payment industry is highly preferred
Data Protection Officer (DPO) certification or equivalent is a plus

Responsibilities of the role

Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to IT and payment services, including vendor agreements, customer agreements, e-merchant agreements, software licensing agreements, SaaS agreements etc,
Provide legal advice and support to the leadership team and structural units, as well as DECTA group companies
Collaborate with product and engineering teams on the development of new products and features,
Draft and maintain agreement templates and develop standardized legal processes in the fast-paced FinTech industry where new product offering is everyday business
Draft any other necessary legal documents in the corporate and regulatory field (decisions, meeting minutes, letters, claims, certifications, etc.)
Provide legal support in drafting internal policies, procedures, etc.
Provide legal support across DECTA group companies and manage relationships with external counsel as needed
Follow that DECTA complies with applicable rules and regulations
Proactively identify and mitigate potential legal risks
Be ready to get involved in ad-hoc projects and provide advice accordingly
