The Trade and Investment office of Wallonia (Belgium)
in the Baltic countries and Finland (based in Riga, Latvia)
is recruiting a
Commercial Assistant in charge of Finland (full time)
Reporting to the Trade and Investment Counselor, your responsibilities will include fostering trade relations between Wallonia and Finland, as well as promoting Wallonia-Belgium as the preferred destination for Finnish investors.
Main duties:
- Assisting Belgian companies in their export activities towards Finland: preparing market researches and potential partner's lists, organization of individual visits and B2B meetings under the supervision of Trade and Investment Counsellor.
- Handling incoming and outgoing correspondence/telephone/e-mail inquiries regarding Finland. Administrative and back-up support with main assistance to the Trade and Investment Counsellor.
- Screening and attraction of potential investors.
- Preparing economic reports on different sectors overviews regarding Finland. Assist Trade and Investment Counsellor to define the development strategy for next year s action plan.
- Analyzing and assessing market conditions and regulations in Finland.
- Assistance in the organization of different events: Buyers invitations; collective trade missions; trade fairs; conferences; round tables; official visits etc.
- Office logistics, administration support, record of files and archives according to the classification process of the office (MS Teams, Sharepoint, CRM...)
- Work load guidance and supervision of Belgian and locals trainees/interns.
- During trade mission to Finland, potentially join the mission in order to handle logistics and administrative duties during the mission ( catering, meeting room reservation, transportation, meeting organization, badges handling, booth layout and preparation...)
- Limited request to perform the same duties for the Baltic States market.
- Any tasks not described above, provided that they remain within the scope of the Trade and Investment Counsellor's mission.
Requirements
Qualification:
- bachelor degree (or higher) in Business, Law, International Affairs or Linguistics (other relevant degrees might be considered upon strong justification in the cover letter)
Professional Skills:
- Exceptional organizational abilities.
- Demonstrated autonomy, proactivity, and initiative.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Finnish
- Professional appearance and conduct.
- Service-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering value.
Digital Skills
- Very good practice of MS Office suite.
- Ease at organizing, hosting and managing digital meetings.
- Extensive main Internet tools abilities - research skills and document presentation.
- Knowledge and experience in using social media as a tool for information gathering and dissemination.
- Knowledge of any CRM (Customer relationship management) tools will be considered as an advantage
- All knowledge of AI tools and process will be considered as an advantage.
Language Proficiency:
- Proficient in both written and spoken English and Finnish.
- Strong command of French would be considered as an advantage.
Professional Experience:
- All relevant experience in a similar professional setting will be valued and considered as an advantage.
- Demonstrated commercial experience will be considered as an advantage.
- Good understanding and familiarity with Finnish business practices.
Practical information
- Offices are located in Riga center Alberta iela.
- 1 year fixed-term contract with a 3 month trial period, leading to permanent contract possibility.
- 40 hours per week. Flexible working hours in coordination with The Trade and Investment Counsellor.
- Attractive salary based on experience with automatic indexation every 2 years.
- Annual leave, 20 days per year + Belgium and Latvia administration's Bank holidays.
