Job Title: Team Lead / Software Architect

We are seeking an experienced and forwardthinking Team Lead / Software Architect

to lead the transformation of our technology stack and guide the growth of our development team. This is a strategic leadership position for someone who combines deep technical skills with the ability to drive innovation and build highperforming teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the transition from our legacy platforms (WordPress, WooCommerce, OpenCart) to a modern architecture built with Next.js, TypeScript, and a custom backend.
Define, maintain, and execute the transformation roadmap in close alignment with business goals.
Translate complex business requirements into a structured development backlog and robust system design.
Establish and promote best practices in coding standards, architecture, and software development lifecycle processes.
Act as a mentor and coach to the engineering team, fostering professional development and team growth.
Design and manage a learning roadmap to continuously upskill the team.

Required Skills and Experience:

Proven track record as a Team Lead or Software Architect in technically complex environments.
Strong experience with Next.js, React, and TypeScript in production applications.
Proficient in PHP and Symfony, with the ability to design scalable and maintainable backend solutions.
Familiarity with eCommerce platforms such as WordPress, WooCommerce, and OpenCart.
Ability to communicate and justify technical decisions to both technical and non technical stakeholders.
Experience mentoring developers and leading teamlevel technical initiatives.

Preferred/Advantageous Experience:

Experience with Docker and containerbased development workflows.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools and pipelines to automate testing and deployment. Experience using Generative AI (GenAI) tools to improve code quality and accelerate
development.
Understanding of mobilefirst development principles and ability to guide responsive
design implementation across platforms.

Technology Stack:

Legacy: WordPress, WooCommerce, OpenCart

Target: Next.js (React), TypeScript, Symfony, Custom Backend (PHP / Node.js)

Location: Riga, Latvia. (Possible Hybrid after probation period)

Employment Type: FullTime
