We are seeking a driven Junior Lawyer to join Paybis legal team and support our mission in the fast-evolving fintech and crypto sectors. This role is ideal for a professional with foundational legal experience who thrives in a dynamic environment. Youll collaborate with internal teams, manage contracts, ensure compliance, and contribute to our growth with a proactive and ethical approach.

Key Responsibilities

Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of documents, including cross-border agreements with international vendors, partners, and financial institutions.
Assist in drafting, updating, and implementing internal policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with legal and regulatory requirements.
Conduct legal research and prepare concise advice on multi-jurisdictional regulatory issues.
Support the legal team in corporate governance and group structuring across multiple jurisdictions.
Respond promptly to internal legal queries from business teams, providing clear, practical guidance under tight deadlines.
Prepare, process, and circulate legal documents for execution, ensuring timely turnaround and proper record-keeping.

Requirements

Masters degree in Law.
2-3 years of professional legal experience in a law firm or in-house legal department, preferably in fintech, crypto, or traditional financial services.
Experience in supporting at least one of the following business activities or legal areas: commercial / product structuring; corporate governance and employment matters; marketing and communications support; data protection and privacy, regulatory matters.
Experience with cross-border matters, including international transactions, multi-jurisdictional regulatory issues, or cross-border contract structuring.
Proficiency in legal research, regulatory analysis, and risk assessment, with the ability to translate complex rules into clear business guidance.
Fluent in English and Latvian (written and verbal); additional languages (e.g., Russian) are an advantage.
Basic understanding of blockchain or cryptocurrency regulations is an advantage.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-stakes international environment with multiple stakeholders.
