Job description
SpectroCoin offers crypto-asset exchange services, blockchain wallets, and crypto payment processing. Our team consists of distinguished professionals from the IT and Finance sectors, with backgrounds in notable institutions like Bloomberg LP and Cambridge University. We actively engage in research projects with leading academic and professional bodies.
This is a full-time hybrid Risk Manager role based in Tallinn, Estonia, with work-from-home flexibility. The Risk Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining risk management policies and procedures, conducting risk assessments, and monitoring risk mitigation activities. This role also involves working closely with various departments to identify potential risks and devise strategies to manage them effectively.
You should find it interesting to:
- Monitor daily financial and market risks and implement appropriate control measures to protect the business
- Conduct regular EWRA to identify and evaluate risks across all departments, including Compliance (e.g. AML/CTF), Finance, Operations, and IT
- Provide oversight and guidance on risk management across the company, ensuring each business unit adheres to risk policies and regulatory requirements
- Collect and analyze data from various sources to prepare comprehensive risk assessment reports and quarterly risk management updates for senior leadership
- Develop and refine risk management policies, procedures, and frameworks in line with industry best practices and evolving regulations
- Manage the risk incident process record and investigate risk events, perform root cause analysis and prepare detailed incident reports with corrective action plans
- Assist with ad-hoc risk management requests and advise cross-functional teams on risk identification and mitigation strategies
- Stay up-to-date with emerging risks in the crypto, fintech, and financial sectors, and recommend proactive measures to address them
We would love you to have:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance, Law, Cyber Security, Business Administration, or related field
- Proven experience in risk management, developing and implementing risk management policies, preferably in the electronic payment, cryptocurrency or banking sectors
- Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and solve complex problems
- High proficiency in Excel and SQL for data analysis; experience with Python is an advantage
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Estonian, with the ability to clearly present risk findings and recommendations to various stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
- Genuine interest in crypto-assets, fintech, banking, and financial markets you stay informed about industry developments and emerging risks
- Professional certification in risk management is a plus
