GL ACCOUNTANT
POSITION SUMMARY:
The GL Accountant is primary responsible for supporting the financial accounting of the assigned company, by ensuring accurate and timely financial accounting, performing reconciliations, preparation of tax declarations, as well as other important GL activities.
POSITION STATUS: Full time exempt
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. General ledger entry calculation and posting
2. Fixed asset administration
3. Manage accounts payable and receivable
4. Preparation of payment runs and bank clearing (incl CP)
5. Management of finance email inbox
6. Month-end closing in SAP and reporting of the financial figures in IBM Cognos according to deadlines
7. Support in year-end closing and annual statutory reporting according to deadlines
8. Reconciling Sub-ledgers to General Ledger Account Balances
9. Preparation of VAT and other tax declarations
10. Preparation of financial figures for management
11. Short-term liquidity management / Maintaining information in the Treasury tool
12. Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices as well as in accordance with local laws and regulations
13. Assists in various projects and assignments, as required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors Degree, or higher, in Accounting or Finance
- 2 years experience in General Ledger Accounting
- Advanced Excel Skills
