About us:
DK NEJET is a Ukrainian–Latvian software-driven defense-tech group designing and manufacturing autonomous next-generation FPV drone systems for modern warfare. Our cost-effective solutions span both air-to-ground and air-to-air (interceptor) domains, addressing the full spectrum of modern battlefield needs.
With a team of over 100 people, we operate from two locations — Kyiv and Riga — each hosting an R&D center and a production site, along with key functions such as sales, marketing, HR, and finance.
We are looking for Legal Partner who will manage of all legal issues of DK NEJET in Latvia, building and managing a legal service/legal departments in all existing subsidiaries of the Group in Latvia (three companies).
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in law from Latvian or European university
- Experience in mil-tech, obtaining export permits for military or dual use products or technologies in Europe, deep understanding of IP and issues related to transfer of technology in mil-tech
- Fluent written English, ability to draft documents in English: foreign trade agreements, corporate documents, IP license agreement etc.
- Minimum 5 (five) years of experience in law, at least 2 (two) of them (i) either in top tier Latvian law firm on the position of Partner or (ii) Head of legal of manufacturing company
- Strong background in EU law, IP Law, corporate law, foreign trade law, GDPR, regulatory, permits and licenses is defense manufacturing sphere
Nice to have
- Experience in mil-tech, obtaining export permits for military or dual use products or technologies in Europe, deep understanding of IP and issues related to transfer of technology in mil-tech
Responsibilities
- Co-ordination, management and control of existing legal departments of DK NEJET Latvia, and legal departments of all subsidiaries and JVs in Latvia, created in future, as well all legal personnel of the group in Latvia, including the right to form the legal department of DK NEJET's subsidiaries in Latvia
- Define its structure, hierarchy and scope of functional obligations of the lawyers within the departments
- Substitute/dismiss lawyers, hire new lawyers (subject to prior approval of the Chief Legal Counsel of DK NEJET).
