Our Latvian subsidiary is looking for a Junior Electrical Estimator to join our Riga office.
THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced Estimator to join our team and support the preparation of accurate and competitive quotations for industrial automation and construction projects.
The role involves reviewing technical and project documentation, assessing project scope, costs, risks, and working closely with Procurement, Project Management, and clients to develop well-informed and commercially sound estimates.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive and register Requests for Quotation (RFQs) in the system.
- Review and evaluate project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and other relevant tender documents.
- Prepare accurate and timely cost estimates and quotations by assessing required materials, labour, equipment, subcontractors, and associated project costs. Ensure bids are appropriately qualified and meet client and tender requirements.
- Liaise with clients and relevant internal departments to clarify project scope, resolve discrepancies, and obtain information required for quotation preparation and submission.
- Collaborate with the Procurement Manager to obtain accurate and up-to-date costs for materials, subcontractors, equipment, and other project requirements.
- Manage multiple quotations and projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and required standards are met.
- Determine when site visits are necessary to assess buildability, site conditions, and potential project risks.
- Attend project and tender meetings with relevant team members to establish project scope, requirements, risks, and other considerations affecting the quotation.
- Review project outcomes and feedback, incorporating lessons learned into future estimates and quotations.
- Maintain and update the estimating database, ensuring all relevant information is accurate and up to date.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Secondary vocational or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
- At least 2 years of experience in an Estimator or similar role.
- Experience working with industrial automation and/or construction projects.
- Knowledge of construction equipment, industry standards, technical requirements, and installation procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, construction plans, and engineering drawings.
- Proficiency in MS Office; AutoCAD or Navisworks.
- Experience using estimating software.
- Ability to analyse project requirements and assess associated financial, technical, and operational risks.
- Ability to carry out site surveys and assess site conditions relevant to project estimation.
- Excellent in English both written and verbal.
- Strong communication, collaboration skills & organisational, time management skills with the ability to manage priorities and meet tight deadlines
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and a strong sense of responsibility.
