Reporting To: Airport Operations Manager through the Store Supervisor

Overall Job Objectives:

To assist and ensure good service to the people visiting the outlet in their purchasing requirements, whilst preserving and promoting the company’s image with the right approach at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities:

To assist the Airport Operations Manager and Store Supervisors in the day-to-day running of the retail outlet;
To ensure optimum customer care is provided at all times, and to attend any training and/or diligently read any hand-outs to more efficiently meet this objective as required by the company;
To deal with customer complaints effectively and efficiently and refer to the Airport Operations Manager and/or Store Supervisor as necessary;
To compile Daily Activity Reports and the end-of-day Cash Reconciliation, reporting any discrepancies on the relative forms and, in the case of substantial discrepancies, inform the Airport Operations Manager and/or Store Supervisor immediately;
To collect, check and reconcile the daily cash takings of the retail outlet and deposit such takings as per company procedures;
To ensure that company policies are duly adhered to;
To attend Stock Takes as and when necessary;
To ensure that the retail outlet, (including cash, stocks and equipment) is supervised adequately at all times;
To be able and ready to carry out manual work which will involve lifting of stock packages, such as packs of bottles of mineral water, drinks, boxes of magazines, souvenirs, etc.;
To ensure that customer needs are addressed by keeping a line of direct communication with both the Airport Operations Manager and the Store Supervisor;
To work on shifts basis, including night shifts, Sundays and Public Holidays;
To be available to work overtime, at times on short notice, to fill in your colleagues’ vacation leave, sick leave and similar vacant shifts;
To be available to work in any of the company’s retail outlets within Riga Airport according to the current working shifts applicable for each outlet;
To wear the uniform items supplied by the company during working hours;
To ensure that the cleaning schedule of the respective retail outlet is strictly adhered to;
To adhere to policies and procedures as laid in the company’s Policy Manuals;
To perform any other duties consistent with the role of a Sales Assistant that could be assigned from time to time by the Airport Operations Manager and/or Store Supervisor or any other superior.

Skills and Competencies:

To be knowledgeable, educated and comfortable using computerised POS systems;
To be energetic, reliable and trustworthy;
To be welcoming and helpful. Employees must at all times acknowledge the customer and focus on what the requirements are;
To confidently and politely practise up-selling in the right situations;
Work well and efficiently in a team;
To be comfortable in dealing with difficult clients and situations in a professional manner;
To show knowledge and belief of the company’s products;
To be comfortable and able to deal with money accurately and honestly;
Fluent in Latvian, with a basic level of English sufficient for day-to-day communication with customers.
